The HeartScanner is a versatile instrument
for measuring and evaluation of the heart rate variability (HRV) in
the way you need this HRV data. It does live recording of PPG or ECG
signals, computing of the instantaneous changes of heart rate, and
provides full analysis of heart rate variability after session is
done.
The HeartScanner was developed to the standards
and mathematical procedures for short-term HRV evaluation set by The
European Society of Cardiology and The North American Society of Pacing
and Electrophysiology. (1996)
It is designed with a flexibility to create
your own protocols of data recording with respective full HRV analysis
and data comparisons.
The HeartScanner provides a sophisticated
Autonomic Balance Report showing detailed results of both Time- and
Frequency-domain data analysis.
The HeartScanner provides easy-to-understand
verbal interpretation of the autonomic function condition on per-trial
basis.
HeartScanner
is currently available in two models: BHS-PPG and BHS-ECG.
First
model utilizes Biocom M-2001 PPG (Photoplethysmogaph) Ear-clip Sensor
- hands free monitoring. This is a low-end version of the product.
Second model utilizes Biocom
1500 ECG unit. Unlike to many other ECG devices, Biocom 1500 unit
is as simple in use as pulse wave sensor. Just two finger sensors
must be placed on fingers of both hands to get clean ECG signal.

Software
The HeartScanner is cutting edge technology that gives the
ability to measure parasympathetic and sympathetic activities and
balance in the body. HeartScanner software allows for evaluation
based on the information derived from either PPG (Photoplethysmograph)
or ECG (Electrocardiograph).
In an evaluation of the effect of a therapy on the autonomic
nervous system, The HeartScanner allows the building of a protocol
of any length, or number of trials, instantly. Research protocols
can be developed real-time with ease. For example, the application
design could be used to evaluate the HRV condition before the therapy
another during and one for afterward. Once the trials are completed,
The HeartScanner completes full HRV analysis and creates detailed
reports with the data from all trials. This allows for an easy comparison
across numerous therapeutic applications or procedures. The protocols
can then be saved for future research applications.
