The Floataway Free Swimmer - Exercise Swimming Pool
The Floataway Free Swimmer Exercise Swimming Pool is a rigid, above ground, indoor or outdoor exercise pool with powerful twin electric flow generators built in to its unique rounded end design ("Roman End").
This is not a modified pool, it has been designed from the ground up as an exercise pool in which the central lane has wide, deep and smooth flow like a river while the water returns along the sides. This pool does not have a pool liner, it is made from top quality GRP glass reinforced resin, through coloured for long life.
While several people can use the pool, there is only room for one swimmer at a time. The swimmer in the diagram is scaled at six feet tall.
The design is modular in length. The smallest pool, Size One, is nominally 3m long, intended for children. Our Size Two pool is nominally 3.5m long and our Size Three pool, illustrated, is nominally 4m long. All of the models are 2.5m wide. Without the power system, it would be impossible to swim in such a compact pool, but with the continuous flow from the pumps system, you can swim for hours. The pool can also be made 4.5 or 5m long if desired.
The speed of the water is adjustable to suit different swimmer speeds. The white lines of the modules provide a perfect reference for the swimmer to focus on in order to stay in position.
Whilst we offer a complete installation service, these pools are designed for self-assembly. Every part will carry through standard doors easily.
The basic pool is so easy to install ! Here's how : Prepare a flat and level area the size of the pool. For the Size Three pool, carry through the four power modules, the eight segments and the six spacer modules. These arrive ready to bolt together with captive bolts and ground insulation. Bolt them together using the single spanner provided. Fill the specially designed, easy-fill joints with the polyurethane mastic provided. It will take a few hours. Leave to dry preferably for a whole week. Fill with water and connect the safety low voltage power system. You are ready to go ! Full detailed instructions are included.
We also offer extra modules such as pool heating, pool covers, filtration systems, steps, outer trim panels, extra length spacers, underwater lights, speakers, and if you have special requirements we can make special parts in our factory located in Norfolk, England.
The power modules can run for two or more hours swimming on a marine 12v battery (supplied), which can then be recharged indoors in about 12 hours with the supplied charger. An alternative option is our special transformer power supply for continuous use. This must be connected with waterproof connectors (never use ordinary plugs and extensions outdoors) to your household 13Amp supply, through an RCD (supplied). The 3 KW heating module similarly must be connected to a different 13A supply. If in any doubt you should consult a qualified electrician.
The pool is designed for above ground use. It can also be sunken, but special precautions must be taken to insulate the pool and prevent float-out, and a ground survey will be required, some situations will not be suitable without extra structure.
The color is light blue all through, but you can specify any colour you like for an additional $283. We do not warrant that it will not fade in time and you must pay 100% in advance for special colours and features.
