Microcurrent Research, Inc. was founded in 1988 for the purpose of developing and marketing advanced microamp/milliamp electrotherapy devices, and setting a new standard of education into the intergration of advanced electrotherapeutic pain management with whole-body treatment.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

We are now in a time of rapid evolution and change on our planet. The potentials for positive growth as well as the dangers of imminent disasters are both at unprecedented heights. The most rapidly evolving factor today is human consciousness. More than in any previous time in human history, millions of people are now asking fundamental questions about their societies and lives, and questioning many deeply established systems and beliefs.

This is certainly true of the field of pain and injury management. As recently as 1 - 2 decades ago, physicians here in the U.S. rarely dealt with issues of nutrition or human vital energy, and acupuncture was looked at with suspicion or ignorance by most doctors. Today acupuncture, nutrition, and many consciousness based activities such as visualization, biofeedback, and meditation have important places in many pain clinics.

Electro-therapy is a prime example of the evolution of healing modalities. Although electricity has been used for treatment since ancient times, it has only been since the introduction of the TENS unit in the 1960's that such treatment has entered the healthcare mainstream. Yet TENS devices and their offshoots have a mixed and relatively unimpressive record in consistently helping patients with challenging pain conditions. That is because the common methods of applying electro-therapy have not been in accord with the human energy systems. Simple local stimulation of a painful elbow with a milliamperage stimulator, for example, is only likely to significantly help about 30 - 40% of patients, at best, in my experience. This is because the pain in the elbow may just be the "tip of the iceberg" of the actual pattern of energy imbalance of that patient.

The milliamp currents output by conventional electro-stimulators are also often too intense to enhance resolution and healing of the injury. It is often necessary to utilize currents and techniques more closely matched to the energy systems of the human body. This is not difficult to learn to do. The training program we offer has helped hundreds of professional to rapidly gain these skills. I have been researching and developing advanced electro-stimulators since the mid 1980's, as well as developing training programs that empower health care practitioners to get great results by utilizing simple principles of energy medicine.
