I was just in Montreal for some presentations to the Health Psychology Division of the Canadian Psych Assoc. I demonstrated the Infiniti and highly encouraged everyone to contact TT and to get a system. I told them that for Health Psychologists, every patient should be at least physiologically monitored during each session - otherwise they won't really know what's going on with them. Just as with the Marines, when you ask a patient "How are you doing?" they will typically respond "fine." This tells us more accurately how they will be doing.

The last fifteen years in feedback has taught us that the EEG can be a powerful training tool, but the EEG remains an ambiguous diagnostic. On the other hand, peripheral measures reflect our physiology exquisitely, but may not always lead to efficient training. The next frontier is to effect a synthesis. EEG will continue to be exploited for self-regulation strategies, but the peripheral measures will guide us and tell us how well we are doing. While the EEG is fed back to the client, the peripheral measures will be fed back to the clinician. By virtue of such a synthesis, we will see the re-unification of the field of biofeedback and neurofeedback come to pass.
